San Sebastion, also known has Donostia, is a coastal city in the Basque Region of North Spain.on the Bay of Biscay. It is 12 miles from the French Border at Hendaya. It is a pretty place, i"ve visited twice.. This trip was from Hendaya where i was staying.. I travelled on the narrow gauge track train. The Eusko tren takes 40 minutes to Amara- Donista station ,which is the station for San Sebastian, almost city centre. The RENFE train station is in the city centre. ---At San Sebastian, the river Uruvea flows into the sea. The Maria Cristina and Kursaal bridges cross the river.
There are three golden sand beaches, very temping even in February. The harbour as loads of little boats. There are surfers in good weather. The city boasts 120 Tapas bars. I took the funicular up to Monte Igueldo, {Urgull } , the carriages are wooden. At the summit is the statue of Jesus from the 1950s.. There is a fairground also. Lovely views of La Concha Bay. --------------
